Mantera the Movie...

It's a privilege to have been invited to watch their private screening last Friday nite at KLCC.

My sincere comment : I've seen craps, but this is not the worst!

Credit should be given to the team : Flare Studios. Part of the team, is the people that I know them personally. All their hard work and effort paid off and they managed to release this movie after 3 years of struggling and pressure.

I can recall this very much is because....the original script is written by McSteamy himself. ( Again, bukan mencari credit untuk laki aku )...but I remember he's dedication to finish the script. Almost for 2 weeks, dier berkurung kat opis sebab nak siapkan script tuh. Siap sampai x nak jumpa aku sumer..! The only time dier kuar dari bilik tuh is untuk makan and toilet break..... nak ajak dating, x dilayan! Mmg terasa agak sakit hati kan... :P

Ok2...enough pasal nostalgia!

Back to the movie itself.....storyline mmg agak longgar. Over the time, the team have made some changes to the original script...However, the cgi is acceptable. Design robot agak details. Aku suker... Enough said. It's not that crap!

Forget about perfection! Of coz....there's a lot to improve. But hey, it's our first local production yang buat cerita macam robot ala2 transformers okay. Org naik motor and tukar jadi robot...

The whole time during the screening, I just ignored the flaws. The only thing I saw, is their hardwork and effort, hardwork and effort, hardwork and effort. Seriously, I forgot about the time.... Sebenarnya, the movie took almost 2 hrs. Tak raser pun macam terseksa sgt tgk movie nie...hahahahaa :P

Byk jer ckp2 org nak mengutuk Mantera nie....but hey, saying is easier than done. Kalau korang terasa hebat sgt, asal tak produce jer cerita robot yg lain. At least, Flare Studios have prove themselves...and congrats to them... the first Malaysian production yang buat cerita ala2 sci-fi...robotic! Better laaa, dari nak produce tak cerita hantu, cerita cinta, cerita hantu, cerita cinta...asik2 tuh jer laaa kan...

The synopsis : It's about a boy name Azman who receive a gift - part and pieces of items including a body kit,helmet and glove. With the help of his friend Jason, they assemble the item that become a superbike. One day he discover it's truly surprise - the bike can transform into a body-armour. And that is when he's being chase!

Mantera will be officially release on May 2011.... Go and watch yourself and make your own judgement... :)

Ahahhahaaaa... BERJAYAAAA! AKhirnya...berjaya jugak ku heret McSteamy tgk Ombak Rindu....hehehheee.

Yang paling best....kitaorg tgk kat Ipoh Parade, last weekend...bleh...?

We went back to Ipoh last Friday, to attend McSteamy's cousin wedding. The nikah reception is on Saturday morning. And the reception is on Sunday.

So, since byk maser terluang....kitoarg curi2 ler lari gie tgk wayang. Book online ticket awal2....mcm agak kiasu kan :P

Aku terpanggil nak tgk cerita nie....sebab review from Asrol. Agak terjebak jugak biler dier kater..lakonan Maya Karin ( Izzah ) mmg best. Bukan juga sebab aku nak tgk Aaron tau..... Aku jugak x follow novel.....so mmg takkan teremo lebih2. Aku lebih tertarik nak tgk jalan cerita dier. Adakah naskah ini akan berjaya sebab diadaptasi dari novel. Harap2 tak mengecewakan seperti menonton Lagenda Budak Setan.

As for McSteamy...awal2 sudah kena gelak biler ckp nak tgk OR. Dgr tajuk pun dier dah turn off. Jiwang karat sgt katernya.....Tapi temankan bini punya pasal....maybe pasrah jer kot...! My least expectation pun, kalo dier boring dier tidor jer laaa dalam panggung tuh. Pasrah laaa untuk 2 jammm....termuntah layan citer Melayu...

However....it turn out to be....

McSteamy status update after watching the movie.

Aku gelak besar biler habis jer tgk wayang, aku terus tanya McSteamy and dier ckp OK LAH!. Yessssssss...!!! As for me, biler dier ckp Ok tuh dah macam dapat Bonus!. Susah kot nak dgr McSteamy ckp cerita Melayu ok. ....Rating dier 8/10 okay. Mmg tinggi! Infact dier adalah pengkritik utama kalo tgk aku layan cerita2 Melayu. Mmg dier sgt tak bleh blah....

So, tak payah nak ckp byk lagi....Ombak Rindu mmg best. As of  last weekend punya kutipan panggung, sudah cecah RM9 juta okay....target diaorg RM7 juta jer.

Cerita nie mmg sarat dgn emosi : Emosi Izzah ( Maya Karin), Harris ( Aaron Aziz ) and Mila ( Lisa Suriani ). Takder siapa2 pun yang merampas or perampas. Tak siapa boleh menyangkal bila hati berbicara. Tak siapa boleh melawan bila hati sudah jatuh cinta.

Siapa sangka...Harris boleh jatuh cinta dgn perempuan yang dibeli dari tempat pelacuran. Perempuan yang dier sendiri akui tidak layak dibuat isteri.....Akhirnya dier akur dan mengakui yang dier mmg terlalu sayangkan Izzah. Sgt2 sayangkan Izzah. Keegoan Harris luntur dek kelembutan dan keikhlasan Izzah.

Bagi Izzah yang mengakui dirinya hanya layak sebagai perempuan simpanan, mana mungkin timbul perasaan cemburu dan bersedih bila Harris mengahwini Mila. Baginya....dia tidak layak untuk menuntut apa2!

Bagi Mila, walaupun sudah berjaya menjadi isteri Harris....itu tidak dapat melunturkan rasa cinta Harris kepada Izzah. Tenyata cinta Harris dan Izzah terlalu agung.

Perkahwinan yang dirahsiakan juga tidak salah....kerana itulah jalan terbaik untuk menebus maruah Izzah.

Lakonan Maya Karin byk dah improve. Tapi aku sgt suka watak Harris. Lakonan Aaron Aziz mmg sgt terkesan. And aku akan sebak, tiap kali aku tgk Harris nangis. Air mata bleh buat2 okay....tapi biler Harris nangis sampai kuar air idung, itu mmg ori!

Jalan cerita yang sgt genius dan di olah dengan sangat baik oleh Osman Ali. Tahniah kepada semua crew produksi Ombak Rindu. Filem ini berjaya memartabatkan maruah filem2 di Malaysia. Jika Bollywood boleh bermegah dgn filem Mohabatein, Indonesia dengan Ayat2 Cinta...setidak2 nya aku raser Malaysia boleh berbangga dengan filem Ombak Rindu ini.

Hummm....Cerita dier biasa2 jer laaa. Good script - Filled with dialogues ....Agak heavy jugak, sebab you really have to concentrate listening to the story.

In a more large scale - it's more about our life, friendship and love. And you cannot get it all.....Once you are up there it's not easy to satisfy everybody.

Money is the root of all evil - Yupppp, in this story it's all about money....

People become greedier and greedier, friendship driven apart because of betrayal and selfishness. People who is optimistic try to use you and get what they want....

But in this case, takder saper btol or saper salah... That's a FACT happening in our surrounding....and that's LIFE

In order to get something, you need to loose something...and that's what happened to Mark Zuckerberg : the co-founder of Facebook. At the aged of 23rd, he's the youngest billionaire in the world...

Well, everything has it's price... People valued Mark Zuckerberg as a billinoire..but he still in search for a price of love and friendship...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows...

Went to watch it yesterday....and yes, all the seats are full..!!

Well what I can say...It's getting better and better..!

Voldermort's power is getting stronger and infact he get to control the Ministry of Magic.

So the challenge left to this three trio : Harry, Ron and Hermoine to finish Dumbledore work...( And yesss, Dumbledore is deadd...!! :( .... To continue this journey, they need to find the Horcruxes to defeat the Dark Lord.

And for the first time, there's no repetition coming back to Hogwarts. So no more train station scene and the train's journey to the school....For me it's better...cause this keep repeating in the first 3 or 4 previous movies.

This time, it's about their journey and all the challenges....( And it's a bit draggy ). Hence, the character build up are more stronger and mature. Yes, just 3 of them to find the clue and trace to find the Horcruxes.

Personally, I haven't read the book....but so far I follow all of their movies.

So to all Harry Porter followers....sila laaa tgk..Best2..

Cant wait for part 2, next year....

Seriously, everything look ALIVE...and REAL. Mmg feel btol2 cam dalam laut....when all the underwater creatures look like they are swimming with you...

Yerr...itulah kelebihan 3D..hahaha

And cerita nie berjaya wat aku raser cam budak2...sebab aku plak yg raser excited cam nak pegang benda2 yang bergerak2 tuh...heheheheee :P

Are you kidding me...? Have you watch it...??

It's soft porn okay... 2 nude women making out- which were called Wild Wild Girls swimming in open sea like a mermaid... hahahhaaaa. The scene goes for about 10 - 15 minutes...which there were acting for porn movie in the making.

Before this scene.... girls in 2 piece, party, boobs , topless.... yeaahhh, you can imagine the others.. :P

I happened to watch it in DVD..... and I was so surprised this kind of content lepas in Malaysian Cinema...??

Yeaaa...XXX rated, yeaaa potong... tapi too much boobs, too much nude in 3D...where to potong maaaa.. hahhahaaaa.

Someone up there maybe have been bribed, to make this muvi lepas FINAS.... :P. Just because 3d content jer ker...lepas masuk wayang. It shouldn't be in our cinema pun at first place.... DVD lantak laaa kann... :P

Lagenda Budak Setan

Aku tak berapa follow sangat novel Ahadiat Akasyah - Lagenda Budak Setan ( LBS ), tapi aku terpanggil nak tengok cerita nie sebab orang review cerita nie sgt besttt, sgt romantik..siap bleh label the best romantik epic laa sumer kan...Siap cakap suruh bawak tisu bagai kan..Ok laaa, nak support cerita Melayu kan...aku pon pergi laaa tengok.

Bagi aku....cerita nie agak mengecewakan laa. Pendek kata - GAGAL. Tak berjaya nak buat aku percaya pada cerita itu...

Seriously..takder scene pon dalam cerita nie nak membuatkan aku rasa nak nangis..takder..! Bagi aku yg review citer nie best ialah jenis typical melayu yang jenis jiwang karatzzzz.... ( means karat gilerr )...mmg ader a few scene yg sedih, tambah plak lagi background muzik yang mendayu2....tp tak berjaya laaa nak buat air mata aku meleleh...mata berkaca pon tidak, hingus meleleh lagi lah tak kan...

Lagenda budak setan patut ditukar kepada lagenda budak jiwang. Watak setan yang dibawa oleh Kasya ( Farid Kamil ) hanya diceritakan pada 10 - 15 minit yang pertama. Setakat scene bergaduh kat padang bola, setakat kenakan lecture dan setakat kenakan Ayu ( Lisa Suriani ) blom cukup nak membuatkan audience percaya yang Kasya tuh btol2 setan..tak cukup laaaa.. And the moment Kasya jumpa Ayu jer terus hilang kesetanan dier......hummmmm

A few things, bg aku agak pelik laaa jalan cerita dier :

1) Cerita nie diceritakan pada zaman biler nie...? Rambut Kasya ala2 dreadlock, takkan handphone pun takder kan....sampai Azmi ( Que Haidar ) sampai nak kena datang kolej semata2 nak bgtau Ayu yang mak dier sakit
2) Selepas setahun Kasya tak jumpa Ayu, perkara pertama yang dier buat ialah potong rambut pastikan dier hensem2...dan jumpa kawan Ayu dulu Suzana ( Raja Farah ). Hello....ko dah lama giler nie tak jumpa awekk kan, setahun tuh...ko balik2 ko gie straighten rambut, pakai smart2 and cari Ayu thru orang lain...aper nie...first thing you shud do is jumpa Ayu dulu laaaaa
3) Sebagai seorang mak ( Sheila Mambo) , anak perempuan ko ( Ayu ) dah kena belasah dengan laki dier( Azmi ) sampai anak ko eksiden, sampai kena buat plastic surgery...ko boleh nak percaya lagi ker kat mamat nie kan...?

And part yg agak kelakar - ader satu scene Kasya tengah belek2 diari Ayu. Pastuh dier termenung sekejap pastuh boleh ckp... " Orang kampung ingat aku orang asing "..terus dier bukak dreadlock dier.... uittsss, giler tak jive kan. Baca diary awek, tapi pikir aper org cakap pasal dier kan...

Tapi tak semua laaa buruk. Ader good points laaa jugak... cinematography cantik, time Kasya kena buat assignment luar, suker scene tuh. And lakonan diaorg pon semua terbaik, mantap dan bagusss...Expression diaorg berjaya

Judgement aku, biler baca novel mmg best laaa, mmg lagi feel...nak2 Ahadiat Akasya yang tulis kan. Sumer orang tau novel2 dier best..!! Tapi biler translate to movie....aku raser gagal kat situ...jalan cerita mmg best, tetapi nak adaptation to movie jadi tak berapa menarik. Tak tau kat ner silap...

And bagi aku, saper yg follow novel dier...mesti setuju ngan aku. Dier cam agak kurennggng, cam feel dier tak sampai lah...ok laa, maybe tak fair aku nak judge pasal baru tgk the first part..kena tgk semua baru leh judge..and aku tak baca novel dier..

But this is not a first time aku tgk movie adaption from books... Ayat2 Cinta...aku tak baca novel tuh, tapi bagi aku cerita tuh berjaya membuat aku percaya. I believe..!!

Tapi for LBS, aku tak baca novel and cerita tuh tak berapa nak buatkan aku percaya...

Ok, maybe ader ramai yang tak setuju my review kat atas, especially kepada followers novel LBS... bagi aku feel baca novel tak sama ngan feel the same story kat panggung. If novel dah best, cerita kat panggung shud jadi lagi bestt, lagi orang boleh feel kan. Lagi orang percaya..

This is it ....is superb..!!

OMG..OMG...OMG..!!!
Went to watch this movie yesterday.....and it was fun-tastic, excellent, superb..!!!

Actually it's a compiled documentary during the rehearsal, interviews, behind the scene footage of legendary Micheal Jackson preparing for his sold out concert tour in London.

And I still can't believe it...it was taken a few days before his final days.. :(

Even though it's just a rehearsal, MJ's performances - voice, dance and energy is like watching a real concert. Tuh baru rehearsal laaa kan, aku dah sgt excited cam gitu skali....kalo tgk concert live...kompem aku dah histeria dah..

First few minutes watching this movie...dgr jer suara dier aku dah sebak, nangis...sebab I'm watching hari2 terakhir dier...sebak sgt.. ( poyo kan tgk MJ nangis ).. Just for a while jer laaa sebak, pastuh excited dah....nyanyi2 sumer

Momentum maser tgk muvi tuh.....memula sebak--> sedey--> ok--> excited--> sgt excited--> pastuh deeeemmmmmmiitt laaaa...... nak terkencing laaa plak...org tgh layan best nie, tak nak missed out sesaat pon.. so aku terpaksa laaa jugak gie toilet, berlari keluar cam org gilerr...kahkahkaahhhhh, klakar..sampai org yg jual air kat luar tuh gelakkan aku...

The movie opens with the interviews of the dancers and during their auditions. Most of them are thrilled when they know that they have been selected as MJ's dancers...all of them are excited, really really excited...extremely excited..!!!

Then it open with MJ's first solo...." Wanna Be Startin' Somethin". Next is showing the green screen shooting of the soldier dancer for " They Don't Really Care About Us" performance. Part nie best...not to be missed. Following by " Human Nature"song.

Next, showing the green screen shooting for "Smooth Criminal"....yang nie pon best. How MJ's acting on the green screen and the composition of the shot taken from one of the oldies movies, which I can't remember the name.

Then, come my favourite song "The Way You Make Me Feel"....yang nie best...suker sgt...!!

Then, it bring us back to the memory of Jackson 5 - MJ sings "I Want You Back", "The Love You Save", "I'll Be There" and "Shake Your Body.". Then my next favourite song "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" where MJ duet with one of the female backup singer.

Followed by shooting for "Thriller" song. During this performance, there's a gimmick where MJ will appear from robotic spider. Next MJ is rehearsing "Beat It", followed by "Black & White". This is where the hotties guitarist - Orianthi Panagaris take the center stage.. and she's superb. She is a Greek-Australian guitarist and only 24 years old..!!! and she's the lead guitarist for the concert....seriously, mmg minah nie hebattt...!!

"Earth Song" is shown next, followed by "Billie Jean" performance. Then, there's a scene where MJ is talking to all crew members and wishing them the best for their London performances. A glimpse of MJ shaking their hands and hugging them.....Aku raser laaa, we as an outsider pon susah nak percaya mamat tuh dah mati, just imagine diaorg yang ader with him during his final days.... surely at extremly shocked..!! MJ ends his performance with " Man In The Mirror" song.

All and all.....mmg best. But if you seen the Dangerous World Tour Concert ....the style still have not much change... 4 backup main dancers, hot blonde guitarist and the long drum build up where's MJ and the dancers stomping and guling2 on stage. But for this concert, they emphasis on the CGI effects, gimmick mock up etc

Paling best....his vocal mmg sama, tak berubah langsung...mmg sama okay. Tengok Dangerous concert which taken place 16 years ago...dengan this performance now...mmg sama, sama, sama.... Aku tak tau laaa cam ner dier leh maintain his voice....16 years ago..but still samaaaaa........

Recomended to watch..Tgk laaa...rugi tak tgk...2 weeks only. Better hurry

Went to watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs last Friday....and I enjoyed it..!!! Besstt sangat
And actually it was a first time for me to watch 3d movie using that 3d glasses...hehehe..dah tua baru nak try...( buat malu jerr kan ...ekekekeekeee )

So..what's so great about the 3d glasses...? Humm, raser cam benda tuh lagi real laaa..raser all the things are moving toward us...Raser cam dekat jer depan mata, but actually...that was on screen

Good story line and animation memang gempakkk...especially on the jello part..so kewllll. Aku raser cam nak loncat2 sekali ngan diaorg dalam jello tuh..hehehee.

Just imagine food falls from the sky, food shower....hummm, mmg best. Ader burger, ice-cream, pizza...just nganga jerr...hehhehee

Banyak jugak part lawak2 bodoh and diaorg berjaya capture moment kasih sayang bapak kepada anaknya..and i'm touched.

Overall, mmg besttt..!! Recomended to watch.....aku raser bukan budak jer....org tua ( errkk, aku tua ker.. ?? ) pun akan teruja tengok..ehheheeee

Moral of the story :

1) Jangan buat benda secara terlebih2, semua ada hadnya.....
2) Jadilah diri anda sendiri
3) Believe in yourself

Why you should watch Slumdog Millionaire...

Winning 8 out of 10 nominations for Academy Award - including Best Picture and Best Director, the story itself is fantastic - full with colors of life - sad, hardship, love, brotherhood, happy, funny, cruelty, kindness, sex, friendship....

The storyline is simple....a kid who living in a slum, enter a millionaire contest....and was one step away to win 20 million rupees....However, he was taken into police custody and was tortured and accused as a cheater. Logically, how can a kid from slum - with no education and employed as a tea boy have an answer to all those questions

Easy answer, you don't have to be book smart or work smart to be a millionaire.....it's call Street smart...!!

All the questions....was tag along with the hardship of his life....living in a slum, dead mother on a riot, being homeless, involved in child beggar syndicate, living on top of a train, pretending to be a tourist guide and be a pickpocket.... a true life experiences that he cannot easily forget. All their suffering, all that they have to gone through....and they managed to survive....!!

Under the protection of his crook brother - Salim and a friendship cum lover with Latika....true scenery and view of India - the poverty, all the syndicate - prostitute and gangsterism and all the crime -it's real and a colourful journey....a life taking experience

Many people give a lot of critics on this film especially from Indians, it's like a huge humiliation for India ..... As for me..hey, it is something real out there, something that you should not be proud off from your nations....but people live in poverty, kids are left neglected , crime rate is higher.....open up your eyes - do something and help this people.... don't have to be shame....It's a reality. Do something to help the people of your country.....

Bottom line....i like this movie..it teaches me to be grateful...

Finally.... I had a chance to watch SEPET...ehehheee..AT LAST..!! Yer laaa cam dah basi kan, sumer org dah tgk dulu..but I still want to watch it

Borrowed the vcd from my colleague. Sorry guys....bukan menyokong pirated vcd. Really wanted to watch at TGV last time, but the showing time has ended. To subscribe to Astro Box office, hubby said it was unwise because it will keep rotating for the same movies....so the only way...is to borrow from a fren

Really like the movie....simple and clear story line - not complicated. Showing the true colours of Malaysian...our culture, our life......

My comments :

1. Really like Sharifah Amani's character. She is sooooo sempoi giler and so cuteeeeee.....raser cam nak picit2 jer dier..really like the way how she pronounced her english....

2. My favourite shots - during the raining scene - where both of them find a place to shed at the abandonen bus stop. Both of them wearing a red plastic bag to cover their head. She looks so cute that time. The other one is when they went to a studio to snap their picture. Amani is so sempoi gilerr....selamba dier jer angkat kain...hhehehehhee

2. How come FINAS tak censored the scene when Harith's sarong terjatuh..? hehhehe lawak gilossss

3. How open minded their parents are. Race is not an issue here.

4. The ending - I will assume Jason's soul who picked up the phone. Roh yang tak kesampaian hajat....sebab dier mmg nak sangat jumper Orked. In his dialogue he did mentioned that he cannot sleep well until he heard Orked's voice

So...moral of the story :

1. Don't wait until the very last time to say I love you to person you love - husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, partner, parents, friends etc

2. Same goes to Thank you, I'm sorry, I forgive you etc - because we never know what will happen to one of us tomorrow and the days coming

So must make sure I say - I Love You, I'm sorry and Thank You everyday to hubby and my family...!!

TV Reality

1. Amazing Race - Still remain the final 4 team. Rob and Amber still going strong. Have a good competition from Ron and Kelly and Ucheanna and Joyce. All based on luck....Surprised that Meredith and Gretchen are still on the race. The oldest couple that are still on the race at this stage - the final four. But I didn't under estimate them.....physially you can see they are weak..because of the age and health factor. But mentally they're tougher than others. Who knows maybe they can win this competition.....But I vote for Rob and Amber

2. Amercian Idol - Anwar was OUT.....Waaaaa. I'm so frustrated. Still can't believe it until today!Technically, he has the best vocal among others...Really like his big smile. Looks so sincere. Constantine and Bo is still ON the competition...! Save my vote for them....
