It's a privilege to have been invited to watch their private screening last Friday nite at KLCC.
My sincere comment : I've seen craps, but this is not the worst!
Credit should be given to the team : Flare Studios. Part of the team, is the people that I know them personally. All their hard work and effort paid off and they managed to release this movie after 3 years of struggling and pressure.
I can recall this very much is because....the original script is written by McSteamy himself. ( Again, bukan mencari credit untuk laki aku )...but I remember he's dedication to finish the script. Almost for 2 weeks, dier berkurung kat opis sebab nak siapkan script tuh. Siap sampai x nak jumpa aku sumer..! The only time dier kuar dari bilik tuh is untuk makan and toilet break..... nak ajak dating, x dilayan! Mmg terasa agak sakit hati kan... :P
Ok2...enough pasal nostalgia!
Back to the movie itself.....storyline mmg agak longgar. Over the time, the team have made some changes to the original script...However, the cgi is acceptable. Design robot agak details. Aku suker... Enough said. It's not that crap!
Forget about perfection! Of coz....there's a lot to improve. But hey, it's our first local production yang buat cerita macam robot ala2 transformers okay. Org naik motor and tukar jadi robot...
The whole time during the screening, I just ignored the flaws. The only thing I saw, is their hardwork and effort, hardwork and effort, hardwork and effort. Seriously, I forgot about the time.... Sebenarnya, the movie took almost 2 hrs. Tak raser pun macam terseksa sgt tgk movie nie...hahahahaa :P
Byk jer ckp2 org nak mengutuk Mantera nie....but hey, saying is easier than done. Kalau korang terasa hebat sgt, asal tak produce jer cerita robot yg lain. At least, Flare Studios have prove themselves...and congrats to them... the first Malaysian production yang buat cerita ala2 sci-fi...robotic! Better laaa, dari nak produce tak cerita hantu, cerita cinta, cerita hantu, cerita cinta...asik2 tuh jer laaa kan...
The synopsis : It's about a boy name Azman who receive a gift - part and pieces of items including a body kit,helmet and glove. With the help of his friend Jason, they assemble the item that become a superbike. One day he discover it's truly surprise - the bike can transform into a body-armour. And that is when he's being chase!
Mantera will be officially release on May 2011.... Go and watch yourself and make your own judgement... :)
